The Emerald pool (Sra Morakot) is Located in the area of Khao Pra-Bang Khram, east of Klong Thom. 23 kms from city center Krabi, This nature reserve is quite a way out of Krabi Town. Take Highway No4. to Klom Thom and follow the signs to the waterfall. At Kok Thai Sub-district. Sri Mahosot District.
I would recommend you to go to Emerald Pool by motorbike or private tour cause you’ll have enough time to enjoy the beautiful of the pool. Normal tour They will give you just 1.5 hours that too short, you have to walk for 800m to get to the pool.
Entry fees are 200baht per person to the National Park and a 20baht parking fee. Food and drinks are not allowed to be taken into the park – except for bottles of water.
This pool is gorgeous especially considering the fact that it’s naturally this way and it was very relaxing to just float around and with crystal clear water it is a great place to come for all the family to cool down and unwind. The area is forested and shady and at different times of the day, the color of the water changed to different hues. The radiant water is about 1.2 meters deep.
After taking some quick pictures of the pool, we literally jump in. The water was cool and felt thick due to the high content of calcium carbonate. The best time of the day to see the real emerald color is in the early morning and you can also avoid the tourist crowd.
When the water temperature is high, the water turns greenish blue; when the water temperature is low, it is pale green.A beautiful pool in the heart of the forest. The clear water is turquoise. Changes color according to the time of day and lighting conditions. Emerald formed by glacier water.
