Phranakhon Kiri Historical Park

I think many people who drive through Phetchaburi. You have seen the beautiful temple and pagoda is located on the top of the hill. That is a summer Palace of King Mongkut (Rama 4) that called “Phra Nakhon Khiri” or people in Phetchaburi called “Kao Wang” and it is today we take to visit historical sites filled with interesting history and a beauty of this city.
For those who come here firs, There will be 2 way up to Kao Wang, by electric tram and the path walk go up to the top. It depends on the aptitude all of you. Anyone who would like to have a little chill, there are use electric tram service. If anyone likes an exercise, you can go up to walk on the way. The path is not very far.

Phra Nakhon Khiri or Khao Wang is a historic old town of Phetchaburi. It is located on the top of 92 meters high, formerly known as “Khao Somon” or “KaoKhiri”. King Rama IV was to build a royal palace for his relaxation on the top of this hill. So he graciously To Chao Phraya Petnisai Srisawat under secretary of the city of Phetchaburi was constructed. It was completed on 1860. King Rama IV given named “Phra Nakhon Khiri”, but the people of Phetchaburi called “Kao Wang”. This summer palace has been around for a hundred years old.

 

Phra Nakhon Khiri has many royal palaces. Most of them are Western classical architecture mixed with Chinese architecture. There are three important historical buildings on the top of the hill. The top of the mountain is the site of Phra That Chom Pet. The east hill is location of the Wat Phra Kaew. The western peak, it is home to a palace and buildings.
When comes to the top, the area of the National Museum Phranakhon Khiri filled with Plumeria or “Leelawadee” beautiful bouquet, Some of it nearly a hundred years old. There are also beautiful views. We will be able to see the city of Phetchaburi is almost the whole city from here on.

The beauty of the palace is very interesting. But what looks to be an equally highlight is the monkey it came together on this place. Please carefully to take care of your bag, Camera or something that valuable. Because of this monkey’s scolding, do not go prodigious, but if you want to get close to, there is a corner for tourists to buy food for monkeys. If anyone needs to feed food, they should go to the corner set for feed food only, for our own security. After admiring the atmosphere and beautiful architecture, then back down, we can continue to shop at the bottom side. There will be many stores to sell souvenirs.
