I recommend the Phimai Historical Park, or that many shortly called “Prasat Hin Phimai” is the largest Buddhist temple in Mahayana in Thailand. From the study various historical evidence, they believe that Prasat Hin Phimai built in the reign of King Sri Chai Weavaram, King of the Khmer Empire in the 16th – 17th century, Later in the 18th century, Khmer kings who have been to restored and expaned the construction of Prasat Hin Phimai. The layout of Prasat Hin Phimai, The main resembles the peak of Mount Meru at the center of heaven and the human world. Which Prasat Hin Phimai as a bridge between the world and heaven. The place of interest here is divided into two parts.

1. inside the city walls.
Naga Bridge
If you have a chance to visit Prasat Hin Phimai, The first gate to welcome you is the Naga Bridge. You will see the Naga Bridge and the Singha sculpture, located in front of the south gate of the Major of Prasat Hin Phimai.
The arched entrance and outer wall of the Prasat
When pass over the bridge, it will be the arched entrance, known as the Gopura arch of the castle in the south side. All the structures are huge sandstone blocks; there have an X-mark shape layout. There are three arches on side of North, East, and West.
The arch and the inner wall (balcony)
From the arch and the outer wall into the arch and the inner wall surrounding the Major prang. It is located in the middle of the courtyard inside the wall. The center of this place, the Major Prang was built with white sandstone. Unlike the arch outer wall and the arch inner wall that are made of red sandstone and some part of white sandstone.

2. outside the city wall.
The gate and the wall of Phimai city
The gate and the wall of Phimai city
Built in the reign of King Chaiyaworn 7th, the four gates, the south gate is the most important. Because of it link with the ancient road from the city of Phra Nakhon to Prasat Hin Phimai. If you stop at front of the south gate, you will see the Prasat through the city gate as well. The door of the city has a rectangular shape. There is a way through the middle of the door. The roof of the gate was broken.

Meru Brahmathat
Outside the walls of Phrasat on southeast, at present, the ruins are brick and the pile of earth deposited into a circle about 30 meters high and about 59 meters in diameter.

Phimai Historical Park opens daily from 07:30 to 18:00. Admission to the Thai people is 10 baht and foreigner 40 baht per person. There is a little guide tour who is a student from the school of Phimai city. They are waiting to present the interesting information of the Prasat Hin Phimai for the tourist.
