Ban Cha Bo Ecotourism Group Mae Hong Son
Ban Cha Bo Ecotourism Group is a Lahu village nestled on a mountain ridge. Behind the village, there is a limestone cliff containing many caves that are recognized as important prehistoric, archaeological sites. Ban Cha Bo Ecotourism Group was formed in 2001 to create better understanding of the Lahu people’s livelihoods, traditions and culture. The Cha Bo community demonstrates that the Lahu people are able to live harmoniously with the forest by not implementing destructive farming practices.

Hike up to the mountain near the village and explore the mystical Pi Man cave, learn about agriculture and farming from the villagers, observe the magnificent landscapes made of small plots of rice fields embanked among limestone mountains, trekking in the surrounding forest.
Best Time at Ban Cha Bo
During the Lahu New Year, or other important festivals, when visitors have the chance to learn traditional dances from community members, in the ‘Raan Jakhu’ sacred dancing circle (February).
