Beach Front

Hotels that have access directly onto a beach often have this category available to guests; in its strictest interpretation, you should be able to walk out of your room and onto the sand. Some hotels use this category, though, for their lower ocean front rooms even if you have to go down an interior corridor and take an elevator to get outside. If what you want is to just be able to walk out, check carefully before you book.

City View

It could mean on a higher floor with a broad view over the city, or it could mean a city view instead of a more desirable ocean view or mountain view etc.

Deluxe

This room type usually means the most basic room type offered by the hotel. It has basic, standard amenities and furnishings. A standard room in a Four Seasons hotel is without question much more deluxe than a standard in, say, a Holiday Inn, but there may be higher categories from which to choose. Standard rooms in hotels with higher categories often have no view or have a poor view over the dumpster or parking lot.

Double

A double hotel room sleeps up to four people in two double beds. Since there are two beds, it is called a double.

Garden View

Usually means lower floors, facing landscaping, no view except of the shrub that blocks your window.

Ocean Front

This could mean one of two things: Your room is on the side of a building and you have a full view down the beach and can see the ocean but you don’t FACE the ocean, or that you are in a hotel several blocks away and on a high enough floor that you can see the ocean from your room. In the second scenario you may well be facing the water, but from a distance. In a beachfront hotel, or even one across the street from the beach, this category does not mean facing the

Golf -Apart from shopping, beaches, temples, one-of Thailand’s primary attractions for tourists is golf. Because of the increase in the popularity of golf in Thailand, a large number of courses have sprung up, making Thailand one of Asia’s top golfing destinations.

Kiteboarding Asia Ltd.(KBA) is the leading supplier of Education and Equipment in Thailand.Kiteboarding is a young, fast growing water-sport that everyone can learn and enjoy.

Rock climbing - the cliffs of Rai Leh in Krabi are arguably among the best in the world. Rai Leh is perhaps the best winter sport rock climbing area in the world, with over a thousand bolted routes up limestone faces with breathtaking views over the ocean. If you are an avid rock climber, chances are you already know about this

KBA is available at 7 locations in Thailand :Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui, Chumphon, Pranburi and koh Phangan which an excellent place to learn this great sport. KBA is the only IKO certified (International Kiteboarding Org.) school in Thailand and the range of equipment that we offer has the lowest prices worldwide

Rock climbing – the cliffs of Rai Leh in Krabi are arguably among the best in the world. Rai Leh is perhaps the best winter sport rock climbing area in the world, with over a thousand bolted routes up limestone faces with breathtaking views over the ocean. If you are an avid rock climber, chances are you already know about this

place and the spectacular cliffs are the reason you are here.

Climbing is graded on the French scale, most is steep and challenging with only limited possibilities for beginners. Due to the corrosive nature of the seaside location, the steel bolts may be of questionable integrity, bolt failure is not uncommon here, and threads (rope tied through holes in the rock) may be of questionable integrity as well. Overall the rock quality is superb; however, like everywhere else, you will find the occasional loose section including the famous Rai Leh stalactites.

Scuba diving – easily accessible Ko Tao (near Samui) draws the crowds, but also possible in Pattaya and Krabi, and the Similan Islands are worth the journey

Diving in Ko Tao is easy, fun, and you can see turtles, stingrays, barracudas, lots of small fish, reef sharks, and there is a very small chance of seeing a whale shark. Nearly any time of the year except November is good diving weather in Ko Tao, In November, the visibility is reduced and the seas are choppy, but diving is good by the standards of many other destinations. When diving is good, the visibility can be 40+ meters. Average visibility is around 15-20 meters.

There are a huge number of dive operators on the island, many offering budget accommodation. Currently the price for PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) open water certification including the new PADI training manual, professional instruction, rental equipment, boat dives, and certification is around 10,000 baht; insurance and basic accommodation may also be included. Shop around as not all shops teach in the same way. Look for experienced dive instructors instead of a low price.

As with many large cities in devel-oping countries, a large proportion of wealth located in one area causes that region to develop quickly. In the case of Thailand, this area is Bangkok. Bangkok, like nearby Pattaya, is packed with massage parlors, go-go bars and karaoke places, with Patpong, Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza being the main areas catering to tourists. There are, however, many places to find a relaxing spot and enjoy one of Asia’s most diverse cities. Bangkok offers a widely varied nightlife. There are Westernized clubs and cafes for the rich, and lower-cost bars and pubs that are very popular with the locals. The city’s renowned district of Phra Nakhon is home to one of the world’s very first international streets Khao San Rd. A walking street, it allows visitors to see the diversity of the world on one single road where East meets West. Sukhumvit Road area boasts some of Asia’s most exclusive clubs and restaurants along the 5 km section between Ekamai and Withayu, with a number of activities available for the city’s thousands of night owls.

Pattaya

Pattaya is renowned for its nightlife, which caters primarily to foreign¬ers. The city has literally hundreds of beer bars, go go bars, and night-clubs/discotheques.. Entertainment

Muay Thai (Thai Boxing)

Muay Thai matches aimed at the tourists can be seen at many of the open-air beer bar complexes. This is more like a demonstration, so don’t expect the real excitement of the real match.
Another important but understated aspect of Pattaya are the excellent foreign restaurants. Often run by expats, most offer excellent food at prices far below those found in Bangkok, Samui or Phuket. High quality German, British, American, Mexican and Indian food can easily be found. enjoy Entertainment.

Take in the last light of the day, cherish the serenity offered by the calm sea and bring back lots of photographs to share the moment with people you care about.

Travel Tips (Around Bangkok)

Wat Bangkradee holds their Songkran festivity a little later than most of Thailand from April 16th to 18th of every year. This is an ancient Mon tradition passed down from generation after generation of people, complete with all Mon traditional performances and games.

If you are interested in visiting Bangkradee Mon Community, please make arrangements in advance with the local tourism committee at 083155-0987, 08-1645-5445, 08-1923-2384, 08-66033038 or 08-1810-1830. Admission is free.

Travel holiday To get to Bangkoontien by car, take Rama II until you pass Kanchanapisake Ring Road (fhonburiPak Tor). Turn left at the 10th kilometer mark onto Bangkradee Road and proceed three kilometers further to Wat Bangkradee. It’s actually not far from Bangkok and you can visit the area at any time of the year. Parking is available inside of the temple. Alternatively, you can take bus numbers 68 and 105 or air conditioned bus numbers 68, 76, 105, 140, 141 and 529.

Around Bangkok , Bangkoontien,Travel holiday

Our first stop was Wat Bangkradee, also known as Wat Mon, a temple built over a hundred years ago on the bank of a canal. One would find inside the compound monk cells of traditional Thai architecture with some two hundred posts lining up underneath. We worshipped a standing Buddha’s image which was carved from a single piece of wood there before moving on to our next destination. The nearby Bangkradee Mon Community is very efficient at preserving their culture and traditions.

Having immersed ourselves in enough cultural study for the afternoon, we decided to take a Bangkoontien Canal Boat Ride. A round trip costs 50 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children, Boat service operates from 11:00 A.M. to 06:30 P.M. This is your chance to view Bangkok’s last intact stretch of mangrove forest and the unique way of life led by sea gypsies. It takes about half an hour to get to the mouth of the canal where it meets the harbor. Locals said they have spotted dolphins here in winter so always be on the lookout for them. Make sure you get to visit Bangkok’s 28th perimeter pole marking where Bangkok ends and Samutprakarn begins.

The boat ride concluded at a scenic point where we could all watch the sun set in a most graceful motion in Bangkok. Back on shore we ended the trip with a fresh, sumptuous seafood dinner at Bangkokseaview Restaurant-the only restaurant in the neighborhood that actually juts out into the sea.

To get to Bangkoontien by car, take Rama II until you pass Kanchanapisake Ring Road (fhonburiPak Tor). Turn left at the 10th kilometer mark onto Bangkradee Road and proceed three kilometers further to Wat Bangkradee. It’s actually not far from Bangkok and you can visit the area at any time of the year. Parking is available inside of the temple. Alternatively, you can take bus numbers 68 and 105 or air conditioned bus numbers 68, 76, 105, 140, 141 and 529. by Around Bangkok Travel holiday.
