Ban Ton Lung is a resettlement village for hill tribe villagers who were formally scattered across isolated villages on the mountains of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai. The Ban Ton Lung Lisu Village is well laid out, with a separate area for each of the different hill tribes. A visit to Baan Ton Lung is certainly a colorful experience with all the hill tribe women dressed in their traditional costumes as they demonstrate their considerable skills in weaving and spinning as well as old methods of rice production. The road in the village is lined on both sides with thatched-roof wooden huts displaying for sale a wide variety of hill tribe embroidery, clothes, jewelry and many other authentic item.

Named after the Lisu hill tribe village that is found near the lodge, Ban Ton Lung Lisu Village is part of a community-based project that aims to conserve the natural heritage of the hill tribes of northern Thailand. The Ban Ton Lung Lisu Village migrated from southern China and Tibet in the early 20th century. Built in traditional Lisu style with an eye for western comforts, the lodge overlooks the lush fields and hills surrounding the valley and serves as your base camp for a magical blend of adventure, relaxation and insight. During the tour, a family elder will guide you around the village to introduce you to Ban Ton Lung Lisu Village customs and culture. You will view the local shrine, admire the work of skilled silversmiths and marvel at fine embroidery work, and  perhaps even be invited into someone’s home to share some tea.
